By Jennifer FarishDaily Journal Oxford BureauOXFORD - The King of Jordan, Abdullah ll bin Al-Hussein, will visit the University of Mississippi next week to speak about developments in the Middle East.Abdullah has worked for solutions to the Arab-Israeli conflict, in addition to continuing Jordan's moderate voice in the Middle East.His Feb. 3 message comes at a critical time this week as members of the terrorist organization Hamas were elected to a majority of seats in the Palestinian government. The Feb. 3 address begins at 2 p.m., but the audience must be seated One hour earlier for Security reasons.Abdullah will leave for New Orleans after his speech.Retired Air Force Col. Lee Newman of Calhoun County said the visit from Abdullah is significant because it shows the benefits of the good relationship the U.S. has with parts of the Middle East."It's an honor for the university and important for our nation to maintain positive relationships in the Middle East," Newman said.
