DC United set to celebrate a "Decade of Passion" - OurSports Central (press release)
Washington, D.C. (February 1, 2006) - In advance of the club's 10th Anniversary season, D.C. United announced today the team's 10th Anniversary logo and details of an on-line voting promotion for the ‘Decade's Best XI ' players and coach via the club's official website, dcunited.com. Fans can choose from 38 field players - four goalkeepers, 10 defenders, 15 midfielders, nine forwards and the club's four coaches - to determine whom They feel Was the Best while wearing the Black-and-Red of D.C. United. The team will be commemorated during festivities prior to the United's 2006 season opener against the MetroStars on Sunday, April 2. Kick-off for the match at RFK Stadium is set for 5 p.m. ET.
