FAISALABAD, Jan. 21. — With coach Mr Greg Chappell choosing to keep away from the spotlight, Indian captain Rahul Dravid today came into the firing line to justify the sudden exclusion of Sourav Ganguly from the playing XI for the second Test and confessed that it Was a tough decision to drop the former skipper from the squad. “It Was really difficult to drop someone with the ability and experience of Sourav. But, we had to pick the right combination that would help us win the Test match. And we thought we needed five bowlers to pick up 20 wickets. It Was indeed a tough decision and Sourav Was unlucky to have missed out,” Dravid said after the end of the day’s play. The Bangalore native explained that India Was looking to win games irrespective of the conditions: “Seeing the kind of wickets, we had to try something different. We hadn’t done well with the ball in Lahore and we wanted to strengthen that department, so we played with five bowlers. Also, in conditions like this, it can get very tough on the bowlers.
