Not only did he ride Zebra Crossing to glory in the R1,75-million J&B Met but he had three earlier winners on the day and this Was his fourth Met Victory. Zebra Crossing, who is trained by Neil Bruss for a host of owners, including his wife Davina and his brother, Bloodstock agent Robin Bruss, Was the 33-10 favourite. Money came for the grey mare Ilha da Vitoria on course before the race, making her the joint favourite at 33-10. The Was a flurry of betting activityShe ran a cracker to finish within a length of Zebra Crossing. Wearing blinkers for the first time, the Brazilian-bred mare Was way out of her ground in the initial stages, but came storming though with a long, late and sustained run on the outside of the track but the line came too soon for her and she finished a length second. Great Rhythm (8-1) , the mount of Garth Puller who won this race last year on Alastor, took the third place a neck ahead of the only other filly in the race Joshua's Princess (10-1).
