Long, 'Broken Road' leads songwriters to Grammys - Robertson County Times

''If we, the writers of Bless the Broken Road, had it to do over again, I don't think we'd change a thing,'' said Hanna, who finally met Bobby Boyd last year at a big party on Music Row, a bash thrown to celebrate their song's No. 1 success. Marcus Hummon, Jeff Hanna and Bobby Boyd, writers of the Grammy-nominated song Bless the Broken Road. ''I basically gave them the story line and Jeff and Marcus wrote the song,'' Boyd said. ''They wrote a masterpiece.'' Bobby Boyd co-wrote Bless the Broken Road More than a decade ago. "The old writers told me when I moved to town that the motto here is 'Hurry up and wait,' " Boyd said.
