"The citizens of Rio Rancho deserve better Postal service," Domenici said. "It is unreasonable to expect the People of Rio Rancho to drive all the way to Albuquerque to visit the post office."And while Domenici brought news that a post office is coming, Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D-NM) brought news that it is coming soon."The Postmaster General indicated that the USPS is just three or four months away from opening a storefront office in Rio Rancho, which is obviously great news for residents who have waited a long time for stepped-up service there," Bingaman said. "During the next few months, I will continue to monitor the USPS' progress on opening this new location and will do what I can to help that effort."While the news May seem like a Victory for the City of Vision, some are still hoping for a better deal.Mayor Jim Owen, though happy about USPS' newfound commitment to Rio Rancho, still wants to see a standalone facility.
