Scott Kattenbraker uses a drill to add texture to a piece inside the studio he shares with his wife, Lisa, at their Napavine home. NAPAVINE — Acoustic music fills the art studio where Lisa Kattenbraker, 28, curls over a piece of fabric. She drips beeswax in the shape of a boy on a bicycle. The room feels like a cold-storage warehouse, and smells like warm honey. A few feet away her daughter Stella, 3, paints pink on pink paper with the assistance of her father, Scott, 28. The studio is quiet for a moment. The moment ends when Maia, 5, comes through the door with his muddy bicycle that he’s supposed to keep outside. Interruptions are Common for Scott and Lisa, both of whom are full-time artists and parents. “We’ve learned that we don’t have the luxury of taking time to get into the zone,” Lisa said. “If you’re not feeling inspired, you just have to suck it up.” Passion and payment The Family moved to rural Napavine about two months ago from rural Virginia, where they lived for five years.
