If you want to build a baseball diamond in the middle of a cornfield, Iowa is a natural place to go. After all, 2.2 billion bushels of corn come out of Iowa every year. But when “Field of Dreams” Was filmed there in the summer of 1988, the Midwest encountered its worst drought since the Dust Bowl. So, with time running out on his project, director Phil Alden Robinson confronted a looming crisis: How do you grow a healthy crop of corn without rain? Robinson will reveal the solution during a screening of his movie at the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival, which starts Tuesday.
