Monthly News Archives December 2005 November 2005 October 2005 September 2005 August 2005 Safety recalls from Saab and Suzuki Tuesday, January 24, 2006 Suzuki is recalling diesel Vitaras built between 2000-2004 to fix faulty glow plug cable connectors Possible fires in engine bays and lost wheels have sparked the first two safety recalls of the year from Suzuki and Saab. Suzuki's recall on the previous-generation Grand Vitara 4x4 is the bigger of the two campaigns, and covers 5917 diesel Models built between September 2000 and February 2004. Suzuki has found that cable connections in the glow plugs could short-circuit and lead to a fire in the engine bay. Owners May notice a rumbling noise which, if left unchecked, could in some cases result in the complete detachment of the hub from the axle and a lost wheel.
