One of the largest argicultural economies in the world lives in Mexico. So, being such a close neighbor of one of the hottest wine producing regions in the world, California, it is only natural that the Mexican wine industry has grown. The Mexican people are some of the most hard working and generous people I have ever come across and I believe this is the reason that in the next 5 to 10 years, we will see some amazing wines come from producers like La Cetto in Mexico.
There are many agricultural regions in Mexico, but the best wines have come from the northern part of Baja Califonia near Ensanada, Mexico. The La Cetto winery has produced Cabernet Sauvignon wines, Petite Sirah wines, and some Sauvignon Blanc wines as well. One of my favorites to date, was the 1999 Reserve Petite Sirah from La Cetto, this is a great bottle of wine and a great bottle of Petite Sirah (not to be mispelled Petite Syrah). This is truly one of the up and coming wineries in the western hemisphere. I would look for more Mexican wines to gain popularity in the next 3-5 years.
