They say this resulted in several corpses being sent to wrong families. Entitled Baring the Truth, the video Was showed to the Media at a press conference yesterday to publicise the work of the police force's own Thai Tsunami Victims Identification (TTVI) centre. Criticising Khunying Porntip's body identification work immediately after the tsunami as below international standards, the police claimed in the movie that the work had been carried out by many inexperienced young volunteers, One of them aged only 14. While the law required the post-mortem work to be conducted only by policemen and doctors, these volunteers did not receive any training and their work could be considered illegal, according to the film. The police also alleged in the film that Khunying Porntip had never used a post-mortem medical form to record her findings. Instead, volunteers were asked to record details of dead victims on pieces of A4 paper on which she later signed her name to complete the identification process.
