Florida has had some of the nation's strongest public records policies since 1967, when the Government-in-the-Sunshine Law Was enacted. The Sunshine Law established a basic right of access to most meetings of boards, commissions and other governing bodies of state and local governmental agencies. The Law also expanded the definition of a public record.
