Monthly News Archives December 2005 November 2005 October 2005 September 2005 August 2005 Honda Unveils Pair of Formula One Cars Monday, January 30, 2006 The 2006 Formula One season heats up as Honda takes the wraps off a pair of all-Honda racing cars, called "RA106," to be piloted by Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello for Honda's works team, which was founded last October and aptly titled "Honda Racing." The cars were unveiled at the Catalunya racing circuit outside Barcelona, Spain, where they are being tested along with those of seven other F1 teams. Honda had been an engine partner to the British American Racing (BAR) team since 2000 before buying it out and renaming it "Honda Racing F1 Team." The Company may not have had its own team until this year, but it has a long pedigree in F1 Grand Prix racing with 71 wins, five Driver's Championships and six Constructors' Championships. The new cars were jointly developed by Honda's Racing F1 Team Operations Center in Brackley, England; Honda Racing Development in Bracknell, England; and Honda R&D in Tochigi, Japan.
