The Last Resort Greg Dawson SUV's past explains warranty problem Published January 22, 2006 E-mail this article Printer friendly version Most e-mailed articles Dear Greg: Recently, I took my 2004 Lincoln Navigator to Central Florida Lincoln Mercury to have the gearshift fixed and some sensors replaced. The work Was completed and I picked up the vehicle. A week later a service rep at the dealership called to say the vehicle had no warranty and that I owed $900 for the work! Knowing the vehicle carries a four-year, 50,000-mile warranty, I said there must be a glitch in the system since my vehicle has only 38,000 miles on it. He said no, it's my problem and I need to pay the bill. I paid $20 to run a CARFAX to see if the vehicle Was totaled or something and its record came up clean. I am the second owner of the car and the original owner paid 63K for it. I am at my wits' end and nobody at Ford seems to care. All they tell me is that the vehicle has no warranty but no One wants to do any research to find out why. DWIGHT ABEL ORLANDO Dear - More available
